it's been three days now since i last saw my cat. it's not like she's not used to going outside - every door of mine has a door in it for her as well. i've always thought of our living situation as rather equal - it's a lot like we share this apartment...but in the end she's still my only one and she's never stayed out this long before.
her food's being eaten - which could mean anything, really. there are six cats in this building, with cat doors for each and every one of them - so it could be that any one of them has been sneaking in here and eating Suki's food. so it could be that she's been coming back to eat...but there's something in the pit of my stomach that tells me that it hasn't been her.
i really don't know where else to look. i've checked all of her usual haunts. walked the streets at night and called her name, 'cuz when she hears my voice she always comes running - eyes wide, tail up, trotting on her tiptoes and calling back to me with a long, incessant string of chirps and meows. i've shaken her food jar outside, spinning the lid like i do when i'm about to feed her... wherever she is she can't hear me, or she'd be here by now.
so - just in case anyone out there in SG-land lives in or near Emeryville, keep your eyes peeled for a small, trim (8-1/2lb.), slate-grey cat (she's a Chartruese) with big, pretty eyes as yellow as sunflowers. she answers to "Suki" and "bear". my phone number's on her tag.

listening to: elliot smith - either/or - over&over&over
drinking: black coffee
plans for this morning: cleaning everything
plans for this afternoon: a birthday party in SF
plans for tonite: writing and recording
upcoming purchases: new heads for the kick - high-hats, a ride, a crash, and stands. oh yeah, and an AKG D112.
(if there's anyone out there with a favorite microphone for kick-drum miking, please drop me a line - i'm not entirely happy with any that i've tried.)
