There's so much that frustrates me about this place, and so little that feeds the light I once saw. I wish I could see into the hearts that built this country only to turn on each other, only to prey on their neighbors' weaknesses. So many times have I heard them say they want their country to progress - they always use "America" as an example (the only America they know is the one they see on TV) - but they firmly believe that jobs should be given to those who need jobs, not to those who are the most competent. They want the picture-perfect Hollywood "democracy" with the social ease they imagine comes with it, but they want it given, without the involvement of the common person. They want democracy - if their leaders will give it to them. Was there a point to this? Did we understand our own purpose before we came here? Did we understand that not every culture can support a democracy?
