I dont know if this is right, but I love lightning
I guess its not the same as liking tornadoes, flash floods, or earthquakes. But to me its still one of those destructive forces of nature that we're supposed to awe and fear. And then theres the constant comparison between chances of (>>>
occurring and your chance of being struck by lightning. By the way, what are your chances of being struck? I digress, *as ifI have a real understanding of what the term means*
I was driving home and was seeing some really good strikes. One of my favs is the triple strike, where three seperate bolts converge at the same point on the ground. Then there were the ones that were veiled by th clouds so as to make silver linings appear throughout the sky. The best though was when I was driving through this valley. A strike occured and for what seemed two seconds, lit up all the surrounding hillside. Sorta like when you take a pic in a dimly lit place and you have to use the flash, but instead a whole valley of golden hillside and oak trees being lit in this silvery flash
Ok, enough of this, time to go outside with my tin foil hat

not much lightening in the city, and i so miss it. as a kid, i spent the summers in maine on a lake, and there'd be these FEROCIOUS thunder and lightening sessions where we'd watch in fascinated horror at all the folks in their little metal boats frantically rowing home, and then all of us taking duck and cover as the lightening would hit the grounding wire on the tree right outside our window, thundering deafening. everyone's hair floating up with the electricity...wheeee!!
