Little hole in the drywall from the water in the bathroom above. Just a little one... So it's time to get the patching compound out and fix it.
Not so fast, bubbah. The hole was just part of a mostly rotten piece of drywall, eaten from the back towards the front. And nailed to a 2x4 that was rotted, supporting a beam that was no longer solid at the end, T-ing into another load bearing beam right at the point of the leak.
A little patching turns into replacing at least three walls upstairs and down, two ceilings and a visit from the plumber. Nice. Very nice.
