On second thought:
A new interface can be accepted over time. Knee-jerk zots, sudden "disappearances" and people heading for the door in response to those cannot.
There's always been a quiet silencing of dissention going on, but it's also always been mostly isolated girls or members under questionable circumstances anyhow. Notes on the inside get burned, and notes from outside the site quite often sound butthurt and personal. Hey, I dunno. And that uncertainty made it always easy to ignore rumblings and whatnot. And really, on the surface this is about naked girls anyway, so is it really that big a deal?
It is for those of us here for anything more than tits and ass. I don't post much. I rarely blog. I never made a ton of friends here. Not really a chatter, either. But that's how I generally operate in real life. I sit off to the side, I watch and listen, and given some time I can read people like books. People who've never exchanged so much as a PM with me are still people I give a shit about. I bothers me when I start seeing members' name links suddenly redirect back to the front page. It bothers me even more when it happens to group leaders. Or when there are six blank error pages at the end of a thread.
I'm very attached to this community, but not so invested that it would pain me much to leave. I just wonder what the reasoning is behind all of this. What is so detrimental about some negative feedback that it's necessary remove someone from the site entirely, particularly when it's not a quiet incident or two, but a very obvious removal of a number of people for a specific, known reason?
For a place that often draws clever, intelligent people it's best to assume we can all add two and two.
TL;DR: No one is fooled. PR stands for public relations, not personal reaction.
