Great job on your website Druggist. Good to see you have had opportunities to display it physically I'm sure you'll have more well before you retire. As far as 'hoarding status' I think as long as you are keeping and displaying your collection as neatly and beautifully as the glass shelf case with lights at the front your going to be fine.  That's great you have an interest in the history of your profession. If I may offer some suggestions for your site: I know some information is lost to time, and you might no more details about items than you posted but it would be interesting to know more of the history of the items. As I see them it looks a bit like they are ads to sell the items rather than a museum piece. Software gives as much or little space for a description as the reader wants. There are a lot of your collection that make me wonder when or where did Doctor ______ practice? is there a modern equivalent to the medicine? if so is the dosage strong/weak? with inflation would it have been very expensive or cheap? The story of Dr. Coult is rather interesting, likely some of the have others have stories of note.  On a lesser note I think you have enough items in the glassware section that it could be broken up into small sub sections maybe by time line or depth of knowledge about the item. Great to see something about you that you are so passionate about.

I finally did it.... YEARS after placing it on bucket list. I am broke after Black Friday, I can't spend another dollar or I'll be in the red. SO i wrote a song! Yes, a song! And it isn't too bad. It totally sounds like a 13 year old wrote it but whatever, I am PROUD to say I am officially, unofficially, a song writer!...

So it's been almost a week and only 4 people have voted in the group I'm trying to be the leader of. Again, I'm not begging, but if you belong to the Medical SG group, the current owner is allowing ONE MORE DAY for votes to be cast and I would appreciate it if you could go and just vote.

That's what I'm doing, but I just hate being treated like I don't matter. Especially wife I though we were getting along great

The hospital where I did my rotations used Epic and I grew to like it. Some of the doctors hated it but others loved it. Where I work now some of the pharmacy directors love Epic (one just rolled it out at their last job), a few hate it, and a few haven't expressed an opinion yet. The first go live is still about 2 years away so it will still be some time before anyone actually starts using it.

I think I have an idea of the exact training dates, but tomorrow there is a meeting where they are going to go over everything. The whole idea of them having this many people travel is very new to them - travel to them means you take the subway between central offices and the facilities, not anything like this. They used to just reimburse people for their expenses but now they are trying to get a travel agency set up. We'll see how it all works out. I should be done with training by May but there may be other things on the schedule that could conflict with me going on vacation later in the summer. I'd hate to change my April trip to something in August only to find out I need to change it yet again. We'll see what happens.

If anyone is in the sg medical group and believes I would be worthy, please vote for me for the new group leader! It is probably the only active topic in the group right now... Really hoping to get this!

Wow. You picked a winner.

That's what a vacation should look like.

I've been working at a company I love for 4 months and just got offered my own store. I worked as a floater for 40 hours/week and this position is only 30 hours/week, plus I'd be floating and extra 10 hours/week.

My question is whether to float to my boss the possibility of dropping the extra floating hours so I just work 30 hours/week full...

Yes, drop those extra floating hours --- free time is the best thing! (Think of it as buying your own time back.)
yaridovich:
Congratulations on being offered your own store!

Also, I agree with Milloux above. Keeping the 40 weekly hours and saving for a while is probably the best move for now, at least until you get used to your new position.

The fiance and I are planning our honeymoon for January 2014. We were originally going for Germany for about 10 days but I don't think finances will allow us to do that. I was kinda worried anyways what with winter in Germany and us being Florida babies...

so now I am considering Northern California/Yosemite or Vancouver. Anyone have any other ideas for a 10 day...

First thing that came to mind was somewhere out in the desert in Arizona but it can get pretty cold there during the winter. Maybe southern California - I hear it's pretty warm there year round. Since you are in Florida, you are really close to the Caribbean so going to an island there is also an option. Puerto Rico is decent and it's part of the US so you don't have the hassles of international travel.

Decreased wages with annual review sounds strange, unless it only happens if someone got the lowest possible rating (although even then I think a lot of places just don't give a bonus and don't give a raise at all). Hopefully when that time comes for you, there won't be any negative surprises.
bendingunit23:
If you are thinking about Vancouver BC Canada the climate is also cold and rainy in January. Would flying to some caribian island be an option? I guess it might not be a big change for you but it also wouldn't be a big weather change.
