so apparently my grandfather's health is deteriorating. its not a huge surprise; he had sugery a couple years ago, and hes been on meds since then. now he needs blood transfusions everyday. im just hoping he makes it untill christmas so i can see him.
its weird to think of him being so sick.
he is the american dream. his father came here from ireland and worked hisself to death in a coal mine. he lived through the depression, earned three purple hearts in WWII, went to college on the GI Bill, and worked his way up starting out as an engineer for G.E.
last time my dad saw him as they were taking him in for another blood transfusion he looked up, scared, at my father and asked "whats gonna happen?"

those were the last words his 12 year old son, tim, asked him before he died. he always felt bad about lying to tim and telling him everything would be fine.
