How low can you go?
It's just so fucking stupid. (And as boring as it is I think I'm going to vent about it here)
I can't go to school unless I get my transcript from the school I previously attended. I only attended it for a year because of funding (or lack thereof) issues. So I got a short term loan to pay my remaining tuition and went out and got a job to support myself until I could afford to go back. Here we are 4 years later. I've consistently had debt on and off. Always increasing any time a car breaks down, or a roommate bails on me and leaves me with a shit load of bills, or I'm hospitalized etc etc etc which has essentially ruined my credit.
So here we are: I really want to go to school. I can't go to school until I get my transcript. I can't get my transcript until I pay off the short term loan. I can't use financial aid to pay off the loan unless I'm enrolled at a university. I can't enroll until I release my transcript. I also can't get a private loan to pay off the short term loan because my credit sucks. My credit sucks, in part, because I've only ever had low paying jobs. I tend to only get shit jobs because I never finished school. Round and round we go.
I can't afford to go to school because I never finished school. And at this point I guess my only options are: just keep working and slowly paying my loans until someday I can finally go to school, or just call the $10,000 I'm paying in student loans right now a loss and start all over as a freshman.
Neither sounds very enticing.

i am still paying off my student loans and i have a good job. if i had a "regular" job i don't think i would ever pay it off. i really should have gone to school for a year and then worked for a year or something like that. since i could just borrow money it was like wheeeeeee free money, i'll just work for the student newspaper for $8 an hour, 10 hours a week. students are too ignorant to be allowed to borrow so much money.
