A brief update:
-We are all fine despite the bridge collapse.
-I quit my job. Sweet, sweet satisfaction (for the time being). It was actually not nearly as satisfying as some past quits but the free time will be well used
-We decided not to move into the ultra swanky loft apartment. Rent here is too cheap and, goddamnit, I've spent my whole life being "fine" with not having "nice" things and I'll be fucked if I'll throw that valuble defense mechanism away just yet.
-Also the money saved will hopefully pooled in a much larger, more bombastic, blowing a lot of money at once (as opposed to a slow bleed type money-blow) vacation to Ireland or something along those lines.
-I love making things. I feel like any career path that does not involve making things will only lead to more last minute job quitting.

I believe the line from The Departed was something like "I'm Irish. I can put up with something being not right for the rest of my life."
