I went to see Zero7 and the Gotan Project at the Hollywood Bowl.
Zero7 had both Sia and Jose Gonzales in tow.

Jose Gonzales in the flesh is about as stimulating as a cardboard box. You're better off playing his album and staring at a photo of him online. Don't get me wrong, I dig his stuff, but he's not much of a performer. At one point, Sia totally stole Jose's thunder when the camera cut to her and she did a little shimmy. It just took 1 shimmy. Predictably, Zero7 as a whole isn't all that exciting live - they're just not that sort of band.

The Gotan Project on the other hand...
Amazing and amazing. The members are predominantly French (some Argentinian) that mix tango with electronica and break beats. Big white grand piano, accordion player, 2 djs, an mc, and 3 violin players... all in white suits/dresses. The video projections were breathtaking. At one point, they broke into "Billy Jean." Needless to say, we were tangoing in the aisles and it was all good...

The violin player had this one solo... she was ripping it up, hair all sweaty and in her face, it was... how do you say... sex on wheels.
