I toast Monday with a mellow tea and rejoice the random half day off i was able to enjoy today. Despite the arctic like chill outside, i hit up the skatepark for a few and made my way down to the Northstar Cafe to enjoy a Buddha Bowl and peppermint tea whilst reading and writing for a few. It's seems the good karma of my post homecoming blues has arrived.
On Dec. 1st, 1955, Rosa Parks was arrested for civil disobidience when she refused to give up her seat to a white man - igniting the Montgomery Bus Boycott and bringing civil rights to the forefront of americian culture. To honor this act towards equality 50 years ago, i urge you all to reflect on the unjustices still prevalent in our country today and do something to keep the movement towards equality (be it racial, sexual, religious, or otherwise) progressive and alive.
