family [ fmməlee ]
noun (plural families)
1. people living together: a group of people living together and functioning as a single household, usually consisting of parents and their children
2. group of relatives: a group of people who are closely related by birth, marriage, or adoption
I have been thinking about what this means. So I looked it up in the dictionary. I have realized that there are people in my "family" are only family in the literal sense.
Even though part of this makes me sad, I have come to realize that we need to continue to surround ourselves with positve people. My wife and I are together;
1. because we love each other immensely.
2. because we love our children.
And 3. because we support and encourage one another to excel. to lift one anothers spirits when they're down.
"All living beings are connected and ultimately inseparable, and we should learn to listen and communicate with each other."*
As hard as it may be I would love to be able to remove any negative people from our lives. see def. 2 Especially when it seems that all they want is to put us down.
I will end this rant on a positive quote.
"Through compassion, through love, it is possible to become a true human family."*

I had been parenting on learned instincts ... but now I am having to unlearn some things to become more flexible .. or has the Doc puts it become a chameleon ... and I have had positive results.
