So here I am, hanging out on a cool Tuesday morning in my rent-a-room, trying to make up my resudox as to what to do with the day. Actually, it's laundry day, so that takes care of a few hours. And it's also time to update this journal, which will take up another little while. I'm also going to try to do some drawing later on, and that will eat up a bit of time.
Hopefully all of that will keep the nervous tingles down, since I start my new job tomorrow morning... Whoohoo!
Something I never realized before is that LA gets fog. Heavy fog. Pea-soup fog. Fog like the fog in "The Fog". It's grand! A white shroud draped across the city, the pristine gauze wrapping itself around buildings and palm trees, embracing them without ever being able to touch, the wispy fingers dissipating into nothingness. The universe seems so much less complex when reduced to an area a few hundred yards across, yet you become focused on details that would otherwise fade into the noise of wide open space on a clear day.
Updates to this journal are unfortunately infrequent for the time being, since I don't have direct access to the net from my little old notebook computer. I'm stuck having to use the "business center" in the facility I'm staying in, which means I have to walk a block and a half every time I want to check e-mail. One thing this has taught me is that I no longer feel comfortable without a full-time net connection.
Anyway, that's all for today's update. Since there are a few Lexx fans on SG, I promise I'll write a journal that contains a few thoughts about what it was like to work on the show and hang out in Germany some time soon.
Now, go have yourselves a fucking awesome day!
