we are having a wonderful week of colorado spring - coolish to warmish, rainy, cloudy, thundery, sunny, dramatic skies, real spring-fresh scent in the air. there's nothing like nature to cheer me up. i can't wait to go on my first hike of the season.
i'm looking into getting a picture phone. anyone have one? any advice? skyy and i really want to get them b/c every time we talk we tell each other our outlandish stories and it always reminds me of those t-mobile commercials where they girl is taking pictures of little richard in the bowling alley.
i bought the most kick-ass pair of boots today! they're purple and steel-toed w/ all kinds of buckles and shiney bits and heels. they are just like the anime boots i wanted but i wanted to get mine in red, but the only place i could find them didn't have them in my size and didn't know when they were getting more in. plus they were like $250. which i would have TOTALLY paid for these boots! i have a titch of a shoe fetish - what's a girl to do? so, purple's not my favorite color, but purple is a fruit. they're pretty hot, and i got them for $50!
so, now i'm trying to find someplace i want to go out to tonight so i can flaunt them
well. i'm off to eat pringles and watch The Secretary.
cheers all.
and thanks to everyone who has been sending me nice words and thoughts the past few weeks when i've been really down. i really appreciate it

i could never get a picture phone because i am nekkid too often. i don't want people to be calling me ALL THE TIME heh heh
we did get a flat, but by sheer luck. our landlady happened to be selling, and she had already renovated the place, put in a rad kitchen and a shower/toilet which saved us 20,000 euro more or less. the shitholes we were seeing...we have so far been almost 100% wrong for timing: first the introduction of the euro last year made all the prices jump, and everyone tightened up which meant no one was moving. so there were fuck-all properties available to buy. second, we arrived in august, when the entire city closes down for summer holidays, so we lost a few months. third, the war and SARS have obliterated tourism even here, so there are very few people to rent it as we had hoped, and forth, in april all the foreign students go home and EVERYONE has property to rent so we don't stand out in the classifieds.
but if we can survive a year of holding our breath, it will end up to be an astonishingly profitable investment. i am basically optimistic, because i have been flying by the seat of my pants for my whole damn life, so this is no big shocker. i have no fucking clue what i'm going to do when i get back to canada. i need to make about 5 grand so i can travel again asap. i am however shockingly unemployable and only want to hang around till xmas. so...
have you seen Secretary before? i am super curious but it isn't out here at all. i'll hook it up at home next month.
shit, so didn't answer all the questions:
Greater Toronto Area, really Oshawa, which is like the Flint, MI of Canada, except our GM plants are still open, and it's only 20 minutes to get to downtown Toronto.
when i was a kid i lived on a farm in SW ONtario, and went to highschool in London, ON.
i do enjoy hockey, i am a redwings fan by (hubby) default, and also cause the Leafs SUCK. i mean, at least the wings have won the cup recently. i will spare you the gory details of why the Leafs SUCK, unless you are a hockey fan too...next time.
i am so used to moving that i actually sort of enjoy it. i think i am the only person i know who would say that. but it's just us and the luggage, though there's a ton of it, so a lot easier than furniture and houseplants etc. i don't expect to have a permanent home for, oh, about 2 more years. but my ultimate goal is a self-sufficient organic permaculture/hemp farm with shamanic overtones, so i can afford to wait to set up a home base like that. first the R&D stage.
love your shoes
ciao
