had our first maggot dog of the season today. 2 actually. both were euthanized.
i can handle a lot.
i'm a tough cookie.
i can even stand the smell.
but i cannot stand the sight of the fur being shaved off in thick strips, peeling back off the honeycombed flesh and just alive w/ maggots.
and maggots errupting out of holes in the flesh.
falling onto the floor.
they can't be killed.
not alchohol, not bleach, not freezing.
pretty much you slice them w/ the clippers, stomp on them, or drown them in ether.
i think i'm coming down w/a bug.
(no pun intended).
i feel shitty.
god, please let me sleep tonight!

Glad to hear you're coming along nicely.
[edited to add: Or as nicely as you can, given the developing (viral, maybe) bug. I almost said, "Glad you are following a steady keel," but that would have been too much.
