i had my first yoga class w/ a new teacher last night. he was great
his name is chris and he looks and sounds a lot like andrew on buffy, and he was both very forgiving as well as very encouraging.
and i'm not saying my other teacher was bad, but sometimes it's just really helpful to hear things described in a new way - how to get into a pose, what it's supposed to feel like, how to use your bandas . . .
i'm a little sad that he doesn't "lay hands on" - by the time people reach level II they are pretty familiar w/ the correct postures in most poses, but sometimes it can be so helpful to have the teacher adjust you -
you can listen for eternity a/b how it's suposed to feel and what it's supposed to look ike, but sometimes a tiny adjust ment just makes everything slip into place and you instantly get it.
plus he doesn't play music at all - not even during shivasana.
but, i really like his personality. so i'm pretty excited.
it's been a while since i've come back from a yoga practice feeling so refreshed in both body and soul.
today is such a perfect spring day
the sun is shining, the sky is blue, it's in the 70's, and hubby is ducking out of work early so we can go to a baseball game - rockies v. mets.
i'm pretty excited. i'm not what you would call a baseball fan, but i do remember going to expos games as a kid and enjoying just the experience. we'd run all over the stadium and eat a ton of junk food and just enjoy the day.
seems like a good end to my "weekend".
too bad i can't drink any beer - antibiotics - blech
well, y'all have a great sunny spring day,

jae forgot to put the tape in to tape buffy last nite and then fell asleep so now i hafta wait 'till the saturday nite replay...erg.. by the way, thanx for the tea and sympathy. i got to go to school today atleast, 'cause we found a set for life lotto ticket worth 6 bucks when hunting for change. (wow now i'm set!) well i'll get at least one of my checks tomorrow so things should be a little easier!
sports events can be really fun, i don't watch alot of sports either but when i was younger i went through a baseball phase since my dad and sister watched it so much, he took us to seattle a few times to see the blue jays vs. the mariners we were big J's fans, me and my sister made a big sign asking Roberto Alomar to marry us (i'm like, 13 here) although my favorite player was John Ollerud, he just seemed like such a nice boy! have fun
