Just got back from Amsterdam, and man am I tired!
Stayed with some long time friends of mine who own a shop there called mono... go see!
I went to the Tattoo Convention and met some lovely SG people, including Bonnie, Tsui, Candee... also Cherry and AnnaLee made a fly by on day one. Both busy bees.
I had a lovely Sushi dinner followed by some delicious Ice cream with Clio on the first day, which ended with a crazy thunder and lightning storm! Also, had a lovely long chat with Cecilia on her break on the second day.
It was incredibly hot and sticky humid on those days. Very tiring after a few hours.
Some of the girls had tattoos done at the convention, which I'm sure they will put on their journals. The prices were higher there, but a huge variety of styles all around.
Also, the most fascinating for me were some of the traditional oriental tattooists using sharp metal tips fashioned onto wooden sticks hand hammering in the ink directly while another applied some kind of gel in between. Amazing to watch being done.
Here's another technique which looked like he was screwing the stick in really deep! "ouch!"
Here's a random pic from the SG table before my stupid ass camera died on me :/
...and here's an interesting piece of street art I saw near Amsterdam Central

I'm a bit annoyed on the tattoo front actually. i had a design done and really wanted it done by this guy in Brighton who did it with a handheld needle rather than a gun, but he ended moving off and I missed my chance. i've got one tattoo done with a gun but I really want a more traditional one. I really like the idea of it being done by hand and pushing the ink under the skin; it's a far more beautiful aesthetic to me.
So, yeah, I was just interested in the pics so thanks for that.
I'll put up the fontenelle and whatnot for you too.
take care man
ps your new profile pics are very becoming
Cheers!
