That sucks, I hope you're doing okay. If you're going to move into downtown Richmond you wont need a car too terribly. I used to walk all over that city, it's great exercise and if you dont feel like walking there's buses going everywhere. Just avoid the dark alleyways after the sun goes down and dont go onto the wrong side of Broad St. because there's a lot of fiending crackheads who love to rob people (especially young white girls). but Richmond can be a great place as long as you're careful and know where to not go.
