Because that is the cutest damn puppy and it's appropriate for this journal entry.
On the party:
That is possibly the best party i've ever been to, and i've been to some parties.
it appears i am THE DCSG. Becuase i'm the only one that shows up. It has become my territory, and i don't even live in DC. haha.
On my sleep:
It's getting worse. I keep having this dream over and over. Mostly the buzz saw part.
Now, i have a bad habit of switching tenses, so please bear with me.
A man was attempting to sell me small trinkets. One of them was a scene model. At first it looked like a ride that toured around a small, lovely island (well, my idea of a lovely island anyway). He noticed my interest in the item, and began to give me the "tour", as it were.
He explained that the track did not hold a train, but rather something akin to a buzz saw. There was a certain place the client was supposed to sit, So that the saw would pass them, and so that you could look at the scenery. I found it undeniably beautiful, though most probably wouldn't: black, dark, overclouded skies that gradiated to red, and orange as the sky dropped behind the dead mountains. Razorwire hung about our heads to set the atmosphere. While in real life, i would have said "holy shit, that is cool," here, my breath was utterly taken away.
"Now, the blade will pass, and you'll get cut. It's nothing much really," he continued to explain as he pulled out an example. It was what appeared to be a piece of rare cooked steak. He split it open about a third of the way through, exposing what looked like a spine or some other supporting bone structure. "But it's kinda bad. After that, you go to a fantastically beautiful part of the island where you get all kinds of cool stuff." Now, this part of the island was not shown to me. I'd have to go see it for myself. So he tried and sat me on the bench (don't ask how, but somehow we were now small enough to be able to do this). The view was truly astounding from that bench. I looked over my shoulder and saw the blade coming. It was almost as large as me, and i tried to think of where i could stand to be cut. My face seemed to be the best option, but i couldn't figure out where i would have to sit for this to work, or exactly how deep it would cut me. I took too long to figure it out, and as the blade got too close, i leapt over the wall behind me, dodging at the last moment.
Whoever i was with (in all of my dreams, i am always accompanied by a confidant) frowned at me. The guide said it wouldn't work if i didn't sit still.
"I'm sorry, i can't do it."
He said that it was okay and that there would be another chance to do it. Just come back at x time on x day.
So a couple of days later, i return to the building, which
was similar to the Ames building, but everything is metal and shiny. I didn't have my keycard, but there are tons of other poeple that are apparently going on this trip. I weasel my way onto one of the elevators, which held only one lightbulb, as though it were on emergency power. It spills us onto a floor that looks like the Ames building garage, and we start standing in line so that we can go through the door and wait in that room, and then be seating for this horrific ride. The more i sit and think, the more i remember that piece of meat split to the spine, the more nervous i get. I look to a middle aged black woman next to me, and ask her "How bad does that thing cut you? I mean, is it really bad?"
She gave me a friendly smile. "Yeah, but it's not that bad. It's worth it."
It didn't sate me... The closer to the front of the line i got, the more anxious i became, until i panicked and stepped out of line. "Nope. Sorry, can't do it."
They all looked at me curiously, and a little concerned. "Aw, hun, are you sure?"
I was shaking. "Yeah, i'm sure. Just can't do the cutting."
And with that, i just walked away from them, from the line, and tried to find my way back to the elevators.
Instead of finding the elevators, i found what looked like some sort of scientific experimentation complex. Greenhouses and small yet important looking buildings lined this area, which was flooded with the sunlight that was filtered through the overcast sky. I could see the red sky faintly in the distance through the walls of the long room, which were make of glass windows. Despite the lovely view i'd be missing, i did not regret my decision.
I wandered further into the Greenhouse zone, more and more greenhouses lining the paved pathway. I looked up into one of the windows of one of the buildings, and there a black female scientist, complete with coat, looked down at me knowingly. I knew this was an area i wasn't supposed to be in, but it looked like she was letting me in anyway and making sure i didn't mess with anything.
Then i started to see them. The dogs.
They were grey, with what used to be the build of a german shephard. The first slinked out of a greenhouse to look at me, with lower fangs that extended 2 feet and sharpened to an unbelievably sharp point. The face was pushed in, like that of a pug, and the eyes slitted like a large cat. The second was to my right; a dog with only back legs and a maw of blunt, large teeth for crushing.
They were completely domestic, and i didn't fear them attacking me or anything, but it was obvious this place was doing experiments they weren't supposed to be doing. I turned to leave. I saw the scientist again, and everything pieced together. I knew that the Saw Seat was only a ploy to get poeple to come in and be guineau pigs. And the scientist had only let me in because she knew i would not be going back out.
It was a lose-lose situation.
There was something about a boy and one of the scholarly men of the site talking in his study that i was present for.... it's all hazy from there.
Also, congrats to Jessie on finally going live.

ah gawd... another heavy player. I feel so inadequate! haha... I've been learning since January from my ex-boy Scott, we dated for awhile and he got me into it, and now I'm all about it... he can do pretty much anything you put in front of him on Heavy. Do you play the Oni courses in the arcade?... I can brag on his skills in that department too if you care to hear. He was 5th in the state when he competed a couple years ago. Go DDR Nerds!! I HEART So Deep, especially on standard, all the jumps in it make me happy happy happy. Let's play! We'll arrange a ddr date!

PS - watching my Scott do So Deep on Heavy is hypnotizing. So I know what you mean about your lil feet not being able to keep up. I just conquered a Paranoia (Evolution, I think) on Standard and about peed myself. So I'm still learning, slowly....
