People are partly self-centered, like all these guys including me who like your pictures for your sexiness, but might not care if you were 60 years old. But people aren't 100% selfish, there's all kinds of people who'd like you for you 100%. Smile at the attention now and invest in your long term love and connections and you'll find better people who'll like you more wholly and deeply. Replace drama with dharma.

I would say "the problem with people" is we're raised in an individualistic culture/time and its a struggle to not be a selfish asshole. I'm a white guy, so my default setting is selfish asshole. It usually takes maturity/travel/philosophy/reflection to not be a complete twat. For example; I try to view people based on how they treat others. I've caught myself ranking someone, who obviously doesn't treat other people well, over someone who is genuinely a nice person. I believe how we constitute our own value and how we esteem others is something worth thinking about. All you can do is try to not be a twat and appreciate people who aren't twats because they're special ?!
