Having lunch with some friends and coworkers. One of the coworkers is a lady I've knowingly had a crush on, but she's shown no interest in any way. We all start chatting about one of the other guys who just got dumped by his girlfriend and it turned into a whole table-wide relationship discussion, which always makes me uncomfortable, because I've been single since Jesus.
I made mention of some of the romantic things I did for the last girl I dated (to include, but not limit to, bringing her cute, but inexpensive, gifts when she was feeling down, bringing her homemade meals to work when she got forced into unwanted overtime, bringing food for her and all her coworkers when I found myself just feeling generous, or just showing up at her workplace on my own way to work to tell her I loved her), and this girl grabbed my hand, looked me dead in the eyes, and said - in front of everyone - "I wish I could meet a guy as sweet as you."
Uh... what?
Hello?
Am I not sitting here?
Reminded me of this photo, which is probably the most true statement ever recorded.
So yeah... pretty much done sniffing down that street...
