This is an open letter to myself, and to anyone who might feel lost in this world, without a clear direction or a vision on where you'll be in the next five, ten, twenty years. First, congratulations on getting this far. As young as you still are, many people, either by fate or choice, will never get to the age you are now, so be proud of that. Next, as nice as your phone, TV, radio, hangout places, lady friends, and other distractions are, without moderation they are just that, distractions. That's not to say that you shouldn't have fun. Please do. But make a schedule and stick to it. While you're at it, stop procrastinating! It doesn't look good on you and besides, work now and you can play later without guilt. Not to mention, you'll have something to talk about with that cute person at the bar this weekend. Remember, you are working towards a you that no one thought was possible. You have the ability to prove every person that thought you were just another face in the crowd dead wrong. Don't waste this opportunity on impulse, or doubt, or apathy. Use every skill and talent and resource that you've acquired over the years. Combine it with your audacity and hard work to push past everyone, and one day, you'll find yourself in that corner office, or penthouse suite, or traveling the world, or whatever you want most out of life. One more thing. Don't be so hard on yourself. It's easy to slip into self hatred when things aren't going so well, but keep that good heart and honest smile. It'll make the prize at the end that much sweeter.
Sincerely,
Yourself
