Well, apparently we lost the video contest. Meh. Still, an actual working String Theorist that I met in the course of the contest pointed out that, despite the voting results, our video, while not the most accurate of the submissions, was the most professional looking. Considering the two-week production window we had, I'll take that as a major compliment!
Not much else going on. Now that it's summer (and I have my 3rd degree) I've been more active with the Lodge and with the weekly get-together at a local bar/restaurant--let it not be said that Masons shun good food!
The pebbling research is kicking up several notches--the graphs we're working with now are pretty wild--and my instructor hopes that we might have publishable results by the end of the year. This means that I might actually have my name on a published paper before/as I get me degree!
I've been on a Russian literature kick lately. First, I finished the third in the Watch series by Lukyanenko and I've started a period-piece murder mystery by Boris Akunin. It has all kinds of little in-jokes regarding Dostoevsky-esque philosophy. Very good.
