I hoping to show a smiling Deke with a new laptop very soon. But 'til then, some other recent pics:
A drunk driver lost control in front of our house. He slid sideways across the driveway across the street. I ran out and he was starting to drive off. I yelled at him that two of his tired were blown.
My neighbors and I tried to delay him long enough for the cops to get here. But he drove away. I still don't know if he got caught. I gave to cops a picture of his car and license plate. <shrug>
The main reason I was so surprised by the reaction of the northern water snake (mentioned in my last journal entry), was because of this:
The last northern water snake I encountered let me pick him up and I even let him lick my nose. I guess I'll think twice about doing that again.
I have a strange tradition going on at work. I can't seem to remember when 'Command Picture Day' is. Last year, I forgot, so I made a tie out of a red file folder. It came out so convincingly that many people didn't notice until it was pointed out. This year, I thought it was Thursday. It was Wednesday. So I made a tie. I was originally thinking I was going to make it out of wire and tape. But I didn't have tape that matched my shirt. Then I saw the copper strip. <light bulb>
I think everyone is going to expect a really great tie next year.
This is our new buddy around the house:
His name is Little Mr. Green Fangs. He's about the size of a quarter. Brankauti wants him to leave. I kinda think he's cute.
I was encouraged by one of my coworkers to pick up my idea for a story in the Star Trek universe. I've been working on it again for a few days now. All my notes are from about 4 years ago. I think I may end up writing it this time.
Some of CT got over 7" of rain last night!! I hope everyone is safe and dry.

Wow! I'm both jealous and immeasurably sad that I don't have neighbors like you... The eight-eyed and no-legged varieties, not the crazy driving kind.
