Thanks for the birthday greetings, and glad I helped you learn something new.

Now just trying to resist the temptation to steal your SIGN: answer to claim as my own... confused

I've had three days of wanting to throw my computer out of the window. It started out by deciding that, even though it had played many a CD before that was no longer an option as it wouldn't recognise any audio CD's existence.

When that was fixed the computer then decided that it no longer had a modem.

When that was eventually fixed I'd lost...

Buck Rogers...bit before my time ya know. Captain Bucky O'Hare, now thats what I'm talking bout!

And the weird thing is, when I googled this, it came from one of the SG boards! Bizarre...

You won't get this till - Fri? then
Meant to reply to yours sooner but lost track of things.
Didn't know of the 'Geezers' group (thought had trawled through them all) will check that out. I know what you mean about sometimes feeling a little 'old', but i don't usually let that bother me. Until I remember they are young enough to be my sons/daughters eeek
Seriously, I'm broad/open-minded, up for anything that gets my attention & I don't feel my age so i don't see why i should 'grow old gracefully': fuck it.

I have had my share of computer probs so I sympathise - a number of times I seriously thought about trashing my last computer. And I lost all my emails too about 18 months ago mad frown

For the last few days I've had my brother, his girlfriend and their three kids staying at mine. I have one spare room so that means the kids (12, 13 & 14) have all been sleeping in the living room and the house feels pretty full.

As I'm the only one of 4 brothers not to have kids I kind of enjoy my role as...

She had more of a Tom Selleck / Burt Reynolds thing going on, come to think about it. But no doubt she could still give you a few pointers in facial hair upkeep techniques.

God, that's mean of me about her *sorry God!*

Watchooo talking bout Willis? biggrin

I'm off out to see Lene Lovich tonight which should be... interesting at least.

Whenever I've mentioned her name to anyone younger than myself they've looked mystified which is fair enough. It's not like I have a huge knowlegde of her back catalogue either. I know what her Lucky Number is but after that I'm struggling to draw much from the memory bank.

But Stiff...

which, i'm consequently assuming, can be summed up in one word: "Bonkers". Bonkers squared. The mother of all bonkers.

that's good though, surely? biggrin

I don't normally get into the centre of London if I can help it. But work had taken me to Kensington this afternoon and afterwards I decided to walk in towards the centre and get a tube/bus or continue walking all the way out East depending on how the mood took me.

Then I got a phone call from my Ma and discovered that I'd...

that's so like me with the books! i would guess that i've only read about one third of the books i own (if that), and the number of times i've shelled out for books when i can't afford them on the basis that i *need* them is truly ridiculous, only to have them sitting on the shelf gathering dust while i try and focus on just one. (working in a library doesn't help, i should add).

and i love a good book cover--- seriously lust-inducing some of them, although i've noticed that American covers tend to look a bit duff compared to their British counterparts. oink

have a good weekend, deegee smile

whata stroke of luck. nice pic by the way. welcome to SGUK!

For the last 18 years, one way or another, I've gone up to Edinburgh during the festival. Most years I'm there for the whole month but this year I was thinking I might have to miss out.

But having got back into the country this last week and having looked at my diary and all I have to get done before September it seems like...

yeah ive actually heard of the trachenburg family players, and buse of child labour laws. the dad looks like one of those guys who is in the paper for all the wrong reasons, and unruly readers of the paper will be bricking his windows and write 'perv' in big letters on the side of his house.

i was thinking more 'venice shoreline chris' actually. who they?
pedigree_chump:
to be perfectly honest, the only reason i've heard of them was because of an article in the Guardian a couple of weeks ago biggrin but i was sufficiently intrigued to download some MP3s and a crappy little video (I'm on a dial-up whatever ), but that was enough to convince me of their greatness! (if you look at my previous journal entry, i actually mention them, coincidentally enough). i'd love to see them, they look very entertaining.

have you heard of the Red Elvises, by the way? someone on SG introduced me to them. they're like a cabaret Russian folk/ska/rock-n-roll band--- sometimes on the cheesy side, but they'll put a smile on your face! lots of (free) live MP3s from their website
here. smile

I went to see c33x last night at the Buffalo Bar. Good gig. Bumped into an old friend. Felt rough this morning but have been for a run and sweated it all out.

Most importantly, I woke up in the morning so hopefully the jetlag is gone.
