Good gig tonight. It was Gavin's first gig with us(he's our new bass player and our web designer) and Matt's last.

However the support band Dustin's Barmitzvah (good name, shit band, even shittier people) used our gear without our permission and fucked up my amp (in a way that couldnt be done unless it was an act of god or, dare I say it, deliberate)....

Was a bit puzzled how you came to be writing about hte gig before you'd played it - until I remembered that the 'time stamp' is for California: duh.

Had intended to see your band but there was one support band too many - I have to get up at 4.30 & the thought of not getting home till 1-1.30am & up again 3 hrs later defeated me (I know I'm a wuss!) - pity they bothered booking Dustbins Barmitzvah at all after reading your journal..
And with regard to those dicks - what goes around, comes around, I hope with interest.

I'll get to see your band next time even if it means taking the following day off

Excellent gig last night, Borderline was totally rammed. It also turned out to be the New York Dolls aftershow party. Cooool!

Our boy George turned up too which was great: we haven't seen him for months coz he's been living it up in Noo Yoik for the past year. However, he's going back soon for an indefinate period of time so I dunno when he'll...

About three years ago I developed a habit of stepping out of my door when the mood takes me, picking a random direction and exploring london until my feet beg me to stop.

Today was one of those days.

I walked west, out of Crouch end and through Highgate village. I then swung south; having the desire to see the river and cut through Camden,...

I love London, it's one of the few places I've been where I would actually consider living there. Other places are pretty, or cool, or have other things going for them, but I guess London has all of that going for it, and it reminds me of LA alot too(which is a good thing) I loved being drunk and taking the tube on a weekend night-because it seemed like everybody was doing the same thing and just having a good time. Too bad I hate dreary weather, though. *sigh* (now I'm all sentimental for another trip out there frown )

sorry i missed yr gig again, im still sick frown

"Ryan! we're going to Download tomorrow! You wanna come too?"

"Wha'?"

"Download dude! Julia (our manager) blagged us backstage passes for the weekend!"

Pause

"Wha'?"

"DOWN! LOAD!...

Rehersal today. Eight hours straight. biggrin
Absolutely knackering but dear god was it fun!

What else?.........

Oh yeah, I am recovering from shock.

Listened to a great album today (borderline genius, in fact) by Elton John.

Elton John! The album is called The Tumble weed Connection. I am listening to it as I write this. Amazing.

The miao!! still has windy-pops.
mechapearlbass:
Hay, good luck with your gig tomorrow, again I apologise I can't be there.

Hope the cats wind problems get better soon biggrin

Today in our acting workshop the general theme was attraction. We did various excercises, like quoting Shakespeare's sonnets to various individuals using the psychological action: to attract. Also chatting each other up, but using gobbledegook so therefore relying on body language to express ourselves.

I must admit that I found the whole thing very unnerving (I was getting light headed at one point).

However it...
