my assessment on the new tori disc:

the design

while i enjoyed the multi-layered photographs (kevin macintosh/shona heath), the structure and layout of the case reminded me a little too much of a sophmore year mock-up. the booklet is glued to one side and the cd holders(made of cardstock) glued to the other. seams are visible, it seemed as a last minute simplistic fix. what...

i am on a low.

it is a dystopic and unbearable feeling
likened to when cutting a section of meat
tearing at the final ligament which will not give
sawing tediously, the tencility at its fiercest
ceasing to break in order to prolong the tension

it is a chinese torture more aptly applied to thinking
the pressure for rapid results, pressure to maintain stability

oh and i think you'll dig the eyeball violence, its pretty creative (if i do say so myself) and TOTALLY integrated into the story/theme biggrin! you still need to watch ZOMBIE, that movie has the ULTIMATE in realistic eyeball violence/suspense. a true high-point in the classic sub-genre of occular trauma!

Hey! What's wrong with Glen Burnie? It's got... stuff... and... junk...

Oh fie.

Tremendously sorry to hear of your dad. I do hope all works out. That stupid wheel needs to spin in another fucking direction. I don't care whose morbid fascination is on the line wink

a nice trip to amherst followed by a nice evening with my boy...

i like going to new places i've never been to before, even if they seem benign and unimportant. a few really neat small towns i've been to:

gloucester, maine: a risd field trip to hang out with the last surviving shakers.

macon, georgia: my dad and i stopped here on our way...

so, after a long, hard day of polymer film-ing, i decided to contribute to the economy and be a consumer. seeing as how the last cd i bought was massive attack's blue lines in october, i got me some discs i've been meaning to get for a long time at the used cd place:

lamb(self titled)
machines of loving grace(contemplation)
unkle (psyence fiction)
skinny puppy...

also, the plan tomorrow night is to have a quick dinner before we leave for western mass, then go to the movies when we get there (IN GOOD COMPANY, pants and i have wanted to see it for a while -- eric from that 70's show, with scarlett johansen and dennis quaid)...

then saturday we'll shop for fabric, get potluck fixin's and chill til the festivities start.

i am thinking about you.

also, bring your camera. it seems really silly to me that we have not been documented together yet.

so fanelli quit. i no longer have a scapegoat at dcl. i'm kinda sad about this.

i've come to realize that dcl IS fucking highschool. my supervisor was talking about this kid that i really don't like, and apparently he rubs him the wrong way too. (he snitched on him to my coworker, and the funny thing is that he is also HER supervisor)...

i've made clear how much i hate it when someone condescends to me at work. i know my job inside and out, new people need a SMACK sometimes. you should just smack him. i already don't like this kid, he reminds me of every lame coworker i've ever had. on the bright side, i've got PECAN so tongue i will take over INSTANT SIGN yet...

guarded is good. slow is good. sleeping is good. i used to fling myself into things, then two months in i'd be all "WHAT THE FUCK!!! not only am i NOT in love, i don't even LIKE this girl!!!"

PS I am the god of work! rock!

gosh, am i beat.

finished another gazillion projects today. ready to begin bank of america phase II AND i've been made graphics lead for the clinton presidential library. it's like i get out of one mess and hop right into another.

(fyi: the clinton library is a proverbial mess right now. our prototypes keep getting rejected because the designers can't make up their minds as...
