I am out of sorts.... I guess largely due to the uncertainty that the future holds... although it does seem more and more likely that I will be pursuing my MA here at Memorial. I just hate knowing that there is no income in May... and that there is no garuntee until September... it is making me lose focus on this, my last term. I find myself drifiting in every class and not focusing which is fairly detrimental to my GPA =)
On a bright note, my gig at Distance Ed looks like it could work out for the forseeable future, pity it isnt more hours but I should be thankful I have that much at least =) I get ink again soon, can't wait for the half sleeve to be finished =)
So.... the election happened.... and what the hell did happen? The NDP went from holding a balance of power to having more seats but less influence... good thinking siding with the Tories, Jack... and Stephen fucking harper is our new Prime Minister... say goodbye to civil liberty and hello to Canadian fascism. The liberals are now without leadership... and will need time to rebuild the party after all the ridiculous scandles... and the green party... well... too bad they don;t actually stand for what the Green party is supposed to stand for.... turns out Green is just another colour, not an ideology afterall...
Locally, St. John's voted the eway it always does,,, Tory blue... electing two of the people who swore up and down that we had to take the first table scrap offerings that the govt provided with regards to the Atlantic Accord... everyone conviently forgot about that.... also the two have said they would never, ever voyte in favour of smae sex marriage, no matter what their party's stance was... just who I want representing me in the House...
It is going to be a scary couple of years... the only hope is that there is enough opposition that the social "reforms" and really they will be social regressions, will not go through. keep your fingers crossed for our country... and buckle up, it is likely to be a bumpy ride for any who do not follow the Conservative agenda...
