Sometimes I am wrong in fabulous ways! The big news is my book has started hitting shelves a few days early in some book shops!!!!!!!!
Those of you super keen (hopefully all of you) can find the book available to buy online at
http://www. dymocks. com. au/
Dymocks ship world wide (apologies to my American Friends for the horrible exchange rate making it slightly more expensive).
The book is also available in at least some bookshops already, including Dymocks George St Sydney, and Hunter Street Sydney, also The Constant Reader in Crows Nest NSW have it in stock. There are numerous places book shops may be sticking it, some have it in Travel Writing, some in biography, and some in New Release, and I am sure others will find other ways to shelve it, so please ask if you can't find it. It should be hitting other books shops Australia wide over the next few weeks.
Also, for those of you in Sydney on Friday the 13th of June, I will be staging my official horribly un-official book launch at the Stoned Crow bar in Crows Nest, where I will be reliving my 13th virginity, when I drank 13 shots of Sambuka in about an hour and then sang a horrible version of Karma Police by Radiohead and nearly got in a fight with a Heckler who had tiny, tiny testicles. So please anyone and everyone come along if you can, I will be signing books if you have them already, or posters if you want one. I will be singing at least one song, in some state of alcohol induced stupidity, and just having a good time. Oh I'll probably be there from the early afternoon so I can send people up the road to grab a book before the local book shop closes, and I'll be there until close or until I pass out.
So gauge your own arrival time on just how drunk a Dave you would like to meet!
Oh hey, for non Sydney siders, I will be touring around Australia and possibly New Zealand for the next couple of months, so if this un-official book launch works, and people actually show up, I might do other versions in other cities.
If you would like me to do one in your city please let me know, oh by the way that last sentence should be read as if I am a bad spokesperson on an infomercial
Finally just one quick reminder that there are only 3000 copies of the first edition of this my first of many books in existence, there are a couple of mistakes noted which will be changed in following print runs, so first editions will always be notable. First editions of famous books, or of early books of subsequently famous authors, are highly prized items and have been known to sell for millions of dollars, Bill Gates payed 30.8 million dollars for a book back in 1994, and ok that book was by Leonardo Da Vinci, but first editions of the first Harry Potter are currently valued at $38,000 for a book only eleven years old, by a still active author. Basically what I am trying to say is buy my book for $29.
95 today and in eleven years you will probably have made $37,970 dollars or so on it, or pass it on through twenty odd generations of family and you will make your great-great-great-great-great-great-great etc grandchildren like trillionares of something! How could you deny yourself, or your ancestors this wonderful opportunity?
Oh thanks for the many messages of congratulations of the past few days, so amazingly appreciated, I am fluctuating through periods of excitement and utter fear every few hours at the moment, and your messages help shift me to the more positive of those emotions, so yeah, thankyou.
Oh plus my official website is up www. fleetingforever. com
