So, I know a lot of you have blogs, several of which I read and enjoy. I'm wondering how you got started, and how much it costs to put one up.
I have an idea for a semi-regular blog, and wonder if it's interesting to anyone other than a couple of industry people like myself:
I want to do a blog that demystifies wine. Not all at once, but a series of small blurbs that give people something to use as a tool for selecting a wine when faced with a 20-page list in a restaurant, or give them something to talk about and impress their snooty friends who claim to know tons about wine but who only actually know they like Rombauer and Silver Oak because they're expensive enough and someone else told them these are good wines. I want to help people understand what the sommelier is talking about when he or she says "New World" or "Old World", and what "earthy" really means. I want to do this without talking down to people, or acting like they're idiots because they haven't tasted over 5,000 wines in the past year like I have. Would you read that blog? Will you help me figure out where to start? Do you want to come over & discuss this over a tasty beverage - perhaps a glass of wine?

I think it'd be a great idea. Of course I'm being selfish cause I'd totally love to pick your brain about wine. I'm just at the "I know what I like" level, but more information and recommendations to try things out would be great stuff.
how did Sunday go?
