Construction on the baby's room has started. He's getting a newly insulated, newly painted and finished room.

Oh, and constellation maps on his ceiling and a clubhouse. This is fun.

Ceiling constellation maps rule!! Are they the glow in the dark stickers that you can place where you want to? I loved those!

Weekend went well. We rented an SUV that we've considered buying. We brought a ton of stuff, but mostly it was linens (because all 3 of us have sensitive skin) and food (Bee & I both have food allergies). Kept the baby gear to a minimum. We probably could've skipped the bouncy chair, but at least it got used. Next up: figuring out holidays between...

gangstaswan:
What did you think of the SUV? Let me know how you juggle the holidays. I swapped this year around so we could do Thanksgiving with mine and Christmas with his. Hopefully that all works out.
gangstaswan:
Oh dear, you have an all over the holidays schedule. My boyfriend's mom was OK with me stealing him for Christmas last year because apparently they never celebrate on that day, what with his dad being a trucker and all. I do not envy your situation wink

We're taking the little man on his first overnight trip this weekend. Plus a long car ride each way. My instinct is to pack every bit of baby gear we own. That's probably overkill, right?
saraberri:
pack diapers +boobs. yerdone. tongue seriously though, don't freak out - you can always buy anything you forget.
badtzkat:
and a pack&play for him to sleep him

The c-section was tough, and our little family has had some bumps in the road to deal with, but being a mom is even better than I'd hoped for.

Pics to come whenever I get a chance to log onto my computer. I've been on my phone since before the hospital.

Barring an early arrival, we will get to meet our son a week from Monday. I'm really excited to know who he is.

Edit: we are actually scheduled for Wednesday the 27th. I go to the hospital at 5pm.

All the best to you and your family! kiss

When you do meet him, you'll have to tell him that the name you've chosen for him gives him a lot to live up to already, so he'd best get to work. wink

It gets really frustrating having my activity severely restricted. I want to do some boring & normal things (go to the grocery, wash the sheets & towels, take a shower) but I'm not allowed to, or not allowed to do them solo. I am bored & cranky, and I feel guilty asking Bee to do so much for me when she's already remodeling the house...

I can sympathize. Not being able to do anything normal has become my life. Hopefully yours will go by fast and you will have a sweet little healthy baby in your arms as soon as possible!

Lovely to see you today! smile

Gonna start packing the hospital bag today. What the hell should I put in it?

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

Edited to add: there are lots of suggested lists, but many are full of things I don't think I'll want or need. Also, I don't want to bring enough luggage to move in, just the basics.

You think I had no idea that there was a Sears Outlet in San Leandro? Please, it's even visible from the 880.
throttlebitch:
I said 'last year's models' not 'used'. No more used appliances. All new.

I wish my dinner would cook itself - it's too hot out to be in the kitchen!

So........ on Monday I was back in the hospital (everything is okay, thank goodness) and the doctor told me that if I go into labor from here on out, they won't try to stop it because the risks associated with arresting labor are greater than the risks of delivering this early. Shit just got real, yo. eeek

On a more serious note, I hope you get to bake that bun for a little longer!

"spread teh leg" this sounds like an advanced technique, i'm going to need image by image walk-through on this maneuver. it could possibly result in a sprain which is not a favorable result for me right now.

Good things:

- It's my lady's Friday! Tomorrow will be sleeping in and pancakes for breakfast!

- Bee's birthday was last weekend, and I got her an awesome grill (with some serious help from a good friend). It has both a charcoal and a gas option, plus it can be used as a smoker.

- We celebrated her birthday & my mom and brother met...
