Thank you for your support, guys. That unfortunate nonsense of being dumped for someone else all happened some time ago and, for the most part, I'm passed it. But that boy is like some sort of ghost of Christmas past that likes to sneak up and surprise me sometimes. I suppose I can take solace in the fact that the girl is a semi-retarded slut and the boy is an ignorant schmoe and getting married is probably the most exciting thing that either of them will ever do in either of their boring, ordinary lives.
Ahem.
Anyways. I've made the decision that I need new friends in Columbus. Lately I've constantly been getting the feeling that I'm being blown off by my so-called "good friends" without any real indication as to why. The real icing on the cake, though, was getting blown off last night. At 11:30. On New Year's fucking Eve. The scenario went down something like this:
Me: "Hey there, Friend, I kind of feel like having a mellow evening and everyone is going downtown [to the annoying, yuppy/frat-boy bars].. what are you doing?"
Friend: "I'm working til 11, but then just going to my house to chill and drink champagne. So-and-so and so-and-so are coming.. blah blah blah. I'll call you when I get out."
Me: "Sounds good to me. See you at 11."
So I sat at my house with my puppy and wrote and drank beer. 11:00 comes.. no call.. 11:15 I send a text her way because the evening was sort of time sensitive, ya know? To which she replied, "Got in a fight with my boyfriend and I left my house." No indication as to where she went. Clearly I was no longer invited. So I drank champagne by myself and kissed my puppy at midnight.
Sooo.. I'm sick of that shit. And if you are sweet, we should probably hang out because I need cooler people in my life.
My New's Years Resolution, if you can call it that, is to surround my life with more positivity. Health and happiness in the year 2008! (Oh, also.. to drink more champagne and buy more pretty lingerie.. but those are somewhat unrelated.)
Even though my NYE sucked, I'm still hopeful for this year. It feels good putting 2007 behind me, because it was a real downer. And just to spice this entry up a little bit, here's a funny picture:
Happy New Year, kids!

I know it sucks seeing someone that cheated on you get serious with the one they cheated on you with - been there, done that. Seems you figured out that it doesn't matter quicker than I did, good deal. Sorry I can't help you out with new friends in Columbus, but maybe I can help you with the whole "positivity" thing...
Puppies are better than people anyhow.
