I belong to an organization called The Society for Creative Anachronism (www.sca.org) created in the 1960's mainly for medieval fighting it has grown both in numbers and in breadth of topics since then covering everything from blacksmithing to medieval baking and everything in between. Also, just in case you were wondering, it's not LARP'ing... we have lots of rules and regulations in place for when we fight because the armour and the danger is real.
