So JDRook's back. Why not go give him a hello? Ask him how his tour's going, bother him about not updating. That's it, don't worry, he won't bite... he can't. This is the internet. You're not actually talking to him. But seriously, folks...
It's Monday. In theory, I should be at work by now, doing the first of two back-to-back early morning shifts. But I noticed something odd with my last cheque... I only worked 80-something hours, but my net pay seemed to be about what I make when I break 100. This to me was fascinating. If I work the extra time, do I go up a tax bracket? Doesn't seem like it could work like that, but if it does, oh, if it does... if I can earn approximately the same money working 15 less hours... so very freeing. Bye-bye 45 hour weeks (not like I get benefits or anything), hello... um... shorter weeks. And hello shlumping around the interent as opposed to lurching half-conscious around my booth.
O' course, I still have to put in 6 hours, nothing can prevent that... but then perhaps she will call, and I'll go see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory again, and that would be good on many levels.
Today I end with a quote I adore. It captures the last 3 years of my life so perfectly.

In three words I can sum up everything that I have learned about life. It goes on.
