Ah, the dance club.
Gina was in town Friday. You don't know her, but that's okay. Suffice to say she's a good friend, likes to go out dancing, but her fiance's been a bit of a goof lately and tends to refuse. Says it's not his thing. I reply that it's not my thing either, but I still friggin' go.
I always enjoy clubs more than I think I will, but the moment we first entered I was instantly plotting an exit strategy. Why, you ask? Well, you didn't, really, but I don't have time to wait, so I'll just answer now. It all comes down to the Other People factor. I both require and despise human contact. I hate going out in seacrh of it, but am fairly certain I'll die without it, and it will take four days for someone to find the body. So once more, I gave it the old college try.
If human contact can be defined as cowboys in my personal space, and I really wish it weren't, mission accomplished. The problem was, you see, that we were unable to wrangle up a big group this time, so it was just me and Gina. Thus every woman there who saw us likely thought Gina was either my girlfriend or...well, that I didn't require a *girl*friend. It happens. Plus, finding a woman at a club requires two things I'm not exactly an expert at: dancing and eye contact. So there we are. Still, we had fun, some decent tunes got played, and Gina bought all my liquor. Yay!
That was pretty much the highlight of my weekend. Since then, mostly work/play stuff... no real time off until tomorrow... so let's wrap up with some shout-outs, 'cause I like shout-outs, but never get to do them.
A special "What up?" to whitewidow and Lotus. I may not respond to things quickly, but it's not because I don't want to, only because I worked from noon Monday to 6:00 Tuesday with only enough break to barely sleep.
Amethyst's got the cast off and Fractal seems to have recovered, so a big "Glad you're better!" in that direction!
12 more hours of work today... better run...
Ta for now.
