I don't get people who need to stay home because they're "nursing a cold/flu." I understand what a cold is, I've had my share... but they're not something I allow to influence my day. So you talk funny and have to blow your nose on occaision. And people have them for, like, days on end. If I'm sick, and I mean properly sick, first off I need meds of some sort to settle my stomach 'cause that's the only way it's gonna happen, and then I am incapacitated for 16 hours. And then it's over. But that's neither here nor there.
Almost through the second week of the Other Guy's Vacation. When the other guy who works nights leaves town for a month, and all I've got to replace him is the reluctant emergency guy and the mornings-only malcontent, it destroys my schedule. misguided and crew came/are coming to town with their choir, and I couldn't go... rue_ had fun planned at Riley park, and I couldn't go... the boys posse'd up to Silent Hill, and I couldn't go. More than ever, the Moviedome is my prison, and all I can do is look forward to the fact that I'm fleeing it within the next few months.
I want you to start thinking about watching Pride and Prima Donnas. It's the latest show from my and Masquerade's theatre group, Scorpio, which tells the tale of a theatre group trying to put on Dance Into the Fire: an 80's pop rock opera. She acts in it, I wrote all the words, and it's a lot of fun. More detailed plugs will come, but for now just begin to consider it. I'll leave you to that.
"Unacceptable? Did you see the pool? They flipped the bitch!"
