So now there's comments and messages, eh? Very well. I can deal with that. Still not thrilled about the whole profile pic next to your comment thing, but mostly because I'm pretty sure there hasn't been a decent picture of me taken since 1994 and maybe they don't need to show up every damn place.
Anyhoo.
I had a lenghty tale about a self-depreciating experiment I had planned for the weekend, and the reasons it failed, but it didn't look to be a good read, so I'm-a skipping it. I'll keep the show plug for Masquerade, though.
Evita runs until Jan. 28th at the Pumphouse Theatre. Try it, you'll like it. Go on, they're more afraid of you than you are of them.
So what else can I tell you... people keep trying to convince me that the Conservatives are a worthwhile party. It's relatively low-key. A neighbour stopped by to share the insane amount of Indian food he'd been handed at a rally, and then explained why the conservative candidate had his support. Bobo at work had another story about something positive the conservatives planned to do, I don't recall exactly what, most of Bobo's stories are long-winded anecdotes about video games I don't play and thus I frequently tune him out.
It's all in vain, people. Nothing can make me support a right-wing party or a conservative agenda. We cannot address the future by looking to the past, and leaning on "traditional values." We can only move forward as a people by figuring out how our traditonal values are flawed and learning from that. That's the only use they have... a stepping stone towards building new values that will no doubt be flawed in some other way that the next generation will learn from and overcome. Assuming, of course, that the hijacking of western society by corporate interests doesn't prevent the next generation from forming opinions. Or breathing.
And so I vote Green. My vote secures them some more funding in the next election, and I actually feel good about it. They seem to me to be the only party in sync with my personal philosophy: It's a new century. Can I please have some new ideas.
