What a day....it was a rough start....just dragging to get out of bed....typical asian houses, we leave our shoes outside or take them off and stack them in the corner once we get inside...I just didn't realize that the rain would be as bad as it was on Sunday, because my shoes were totally soaked. My carpool dummy was anticipating me running behind schedule in the morning, so he left to meet up with me at the metro station later than I did. This led to us trying to haul ass on the freeway. What didn't help was that a few lanes were shut down because of flooding from the rain...so we sat in traffic longer than we expected. As we got off the freeway...we were looking at the clock and trying to race to get to work....but damn...he was late by a few minutes. I was fine, since I start fifteen minutes after he does...but it still sucks the same.
After getting into work, I looked at the sick call board...6 sick calls to start the morning off, and we're already shortstaffed because of vacations and people firing themselves. This means that all the supervisors have to go out on the road and cover sick calls, and I have to run things by myself. It's a damn good thing i decided to bring lunch from the night before...I just have to eat while I work and wait for the supervisors to come in.
Pretty much was running around all day and was on the phone all day...but towards the end, just got to take things easy and finished off the night with a cup of iced tea at the coffee shop with friends. The simple things are some of the best things to enjoy.
