Wow, I love my kitten! I never had a cat growing up. No pets at all really, other than a dog who died when I was five.

I'm making up for it in spades with Uther the kitten curled up in a little ball of adorable beside my leg. This is awesome.

Ha. If I'm feeling pretentious, I can now sign "MA" after my name. Eat that, Canadian graduate education system!

You know, it just struck me that I should probably change my name on here. After next week, I'm not a student anymore. I'm actually pretty happy about that. It's been close to a year since I felt that it was an important part of my identity.

Hmm, might have to go for good ol' Generichuman - my more common online identity.

We now have what is approximately the world's most adorable kitten. He's a little grey kitten from the Humane Society, about two months old. He's big for his age, but my god, he's the most nervous little creature I've ever seen. Poor guy.

We have ourselves a scardey-cat.
oryx:
your adorable kitten will have to come meet my adorable dog. it'll be an adorablefest.
lycoris:

Digby, on the left, is a scaredy-cat, too.

I'm starting to freak out about grad school. Kinda "what the hell am I thinking???" eeek It's different from undergrad, though, so maybe it's not going to be quite so scary? I hope?

I probably shouldn't distribute this at my defense:

13 day countdown.

Ticktock, ticktock
michelle:
ha ha! good for you! biggrin

I just printed off the full draft of my thesis, in its entirety, for the first time.

It looks kind of cool. One of those huge bull-clip paperclips barely holds it together. My poor shitty inkjet printer is probably shuddering after that.

19 day countdown to defense...
voile:
Sweet... good luck with that smile ... and ew you just reminded me that I have to get going on my own thesis. I'm such a procrastinator. sigh.

What's your speicality? Are you doing graduate studies? I think you told me you were, but I forget... blush
lycoris:
Ooh, never-wracking. Two years before I get to do that. Eep.

Heh... I live about a ten minute walk away. I'm east of Avenue Rd, west of Yonge, north of Eglinton... and south of Lawrence... in that square of residential houses, anyway. So, I guess we're practically neighbours. I used to go to North Toronto CI smile
voile:
Nice I'll just clumb up onto my roof and signal you back with a flashlight! We should learn morse code!

First rule of leftist politics:

Pick your battles.

It's amazing how many times this is forgotten. And look where we are...

i think next time there's a debate they should do it with sock puppets.

Why isn't this bigger news? I know there are other conservative candidates who have said worse, too.

The Conservatives have done a pretty decent job of keeping a muzzle on the radical right wing of their party. But, they can't stay shut up forever. The gag is starting to slip a bit, me'thinks! Plenty of time to self-destruct...

Jesus. Does Toronto Global News actually receive paycheques from the provincial Tories? Wow.

No!
Holy crap.

I missed that. I should watch more global. And then I should watch CBC just to get both ends of it. whatever
