As promised, a more thorough update as to why life is awesome:
I'm now a few weeks into my PhD work at Cornell. I cannot explain how amazing this place is, or how much I'm enjoying all the work they're throwing at me. Unlike in undergrad, I actually LEARN a lot when I do said work, so it's thoroughly enjoyable. Almost every day that goes by, I get the feeling of accomplishment that comes along with seeing something I don't understand and playing with it until I have a full understanding. THAT is the shit I live for.
In other news, there's a place around here that has all you can eat & drink wings & beer (or pop, if you're driving) for 3 hours for $11 on Wednesday nights. Unfortunately we've been having evening lectures that conflict for the past couple weeks, but when we get to go, it's fuckin' awesome.
