I just read on one of the news blogs that the 16 year old from California that was attempting a round the world sailing trip is feared lost at sea. Her name is Abby Sunderland and I have been following the trip since before it started. She is trying to to do what her brother had done a while before. She is an accomplished sailor and had to stop in South Africa for repairs to her autopilot system which negated her round the world trip without touching land and without assistance, but she kept going.
I pray that she is found alive in her life boat, I hope that we all here can take a minute from our busy lives and either offer a prayer or a least a thought for her safe return to her parents. After that we can look at the pictures and blogs of others.
I myself have stopped working for a while to pray as I cannot imagine what a terrible time it is for her family.
Just read that her mast snapped and that she is alive, unhurt in her boat. A plane sent to find her talked with her on the radio and she has plenty of food and she is sitting in her cabin with the heater on. She should be rescued in 2 days as she is in the middle of nowhere.

She is lucky to be alive. I wonder if she will attempt to do this again?
