First up congrats once again to @aubrey for becoming a Suicidegirl! She had the genius idea of throwing a party to celebrate her new pinkness, so celebrate we did! It's not every day we get a new SG in our ranks, after all. Pictured above is @verde_ me @dollyd and @aubrey out to dinner! We had some more ragamuffins come along too, but they left before anyone thought to pull out a camera. Clearly @terome is slipping as the 'Queen of Remembering to Take Photos'. Here's another picture including the food all over the table...
Big thanks to @thefuckoffkid for playing photographer for these two pics. Haha. We ate at a 'American' themed bar. I had a corn on the cob as well as french fries. I think the corn was the only plant-based food on the menu... unless you count potato chips too. @exkyu got a burger and there was definitely some sketchy looking fried chicken on the table there too. Unfortunately their kitchen had run out of half the food on the menu so I didn't get my pork ribs (grumble) but the band was great and it was so fun to catch up with such excellent people!
I'm back home now, it was such a whirlwind trip. House hunting on the Saturday, then family stuff all day on Sunday. Lunch with some of the fam at the pub. My grandfather and his brother (92 and 90 years of age, respectively) were in hospital over the weekend so I visited them. They're both feeling better and back home again now which is good. It's always a little scary when stuff happens to people in their 90's. The nurse thought it was SO cute that they were both in at the same time AND one next door to the other. It was good because they had someone to talk to (neither of them speak English very well, though my great uncle is SO much better than my grandfather which is handy). And they made friends with some other oldies in the ward as well. I was really worried going in there, and I find them both sitting up and chatting away, laughing and swapping stories. Such a relief! Then my great uncle turns to my mum and goes "What did you bring us? Nick brought us chips!" Lucky we had some chocolate and a copy of the newspaper in their language or we would have had to get in the sea. After that I had a bit of a rest and then out to dinner! The next morning it was back home again for me.
This week I'm mostly working. I've got a set shot by @exkyu of @sirenn that I'll be submitting tonight which is fun (yay) and there's a new one in the queue of @emmameow that we submitted last week. I think the queue is five months long at the moment, though. So don't hold your breath. That said, both sets are amaaaazing.
My hair's looking 0kay. I'm already to bayalage the shit out of it, though. Just need to either source some Olaplex or find somewhere that will do it for me fairly cheap. The root situation is getting a little out of hand (for me) so I need to sort out a shadow root too.
Oh, other exciting news. I was nerding out looking at the stats for Member Review sets and look at this!
The three MOST loved hopeful sets for this month are all Australian girls! Congrats @gotham, @verde_ and @marialauriejupiter you are all KILLING it. I hope we get ourselves 3 new Aussie SG's in the coming weeks. Fingers crossed.
