I decided to make a statement on my Instagram feed the other day. I know a lot of younger girls follow me and I'm becoming more and more aware of the fact that it's HARD being a teenager, harder than it was when I was a teenager, even. So yeah, I don't have a thigh-gap and I reckon I look fine. Not that there's anything wrong with having one, some girls do, some don't. Like freckles or brown eyes.
I think my pet cat has anxiety. He's looking out the window right now, frozen in place, trembling. And it's hot here today. I have no idea what he's looking at, there's nothing out there. He's just terrified by moving grass, I think? I want to give him a hug but I know if I touch him right now he's practically going to jump out of his skin.
Oh hey! I found a Tardis yesterday:
That's me losing my shit, right there. It was absolutely perfect and looked almost brand new! Made of wood with the same lock (my elbow is covering it). I peeked in through the doors just to make sure it wasn't bigger on the inside. There was just a pair of builder's sunglasses and a handsaw in there. But yes, what a beautiful tardis it was! I would steal it and go on adventures if I could. It was actually in someone's front yard so I had to jump their fence to get close to it (you can see the fence in the background) sorry for trespassing, fellow geek person. But I figure if they didn't want to share, they would have built it in the backyard instead!
Oh hey, this set went up and you should check it out. I did the direction and post production for it and it's one of my FAVORITE sets I have ever ever worked on (and a fucking amazing multi at that).

I especially love the pillowfight at the end. Here's the link again. Go give it some love. If it gets bought, it will be the first Hopefuls multi to do so in SG history! Also I think the first Aussie multi.
I sent off a sketch for my arm tattoo to my artist. I'm so ridiculously excited about it. Hopefully we'll be able to get underway soon. I'd love to show you guys what I came up with but I'll wait till it's actually on my arm before I share anything. I decided to go with Charlie again, she's the one who did my underboob tattoo as well, she is so great to sit for. She isn't too heavy handed but I had no issue with the ink coming out or anything. I honestly think that with any other artist, I wouldn't have been able to sit for five hours in order to get that bastard done. Gosh it came out good. I am still tempted to get the background shaded in plus some horizontal lines like I originally designed, but I also like it the way it is. Dilemma. Also there's the fact that I won't be able to wear a bra for like a week. Again. Haha.
She set up a website if any of you Aussies (or those visiting) are interested, she mostly does traditional tattoos, but she has a soft spot for art nouveau and birds too. I'm really excited to see what she makes of my concept sketch. Like really excited. I don't even know how to express how excited I am!!
Also looks like BlackHeart Burlesque is doing shows in Canberra and Woolongong as well now!? The Canberra show is the day after the Sydney one so I am pretty tempted to go to both. Just drive home on the Sunday during the day in order to catch the Sunday night show at ANU. It would be pretty weird of me NOT to go to the show that's on in my own city, huh. So that means blackheart is doing shows in Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra, Perth and Wollongong now. I kinda feel sorry for the forgotten cities of Darwin, Hobart, Newcastle and the Gold Coast! Though, I suppose the Gold Coast is pretty shiny/plastic/miami-esque and probably not a SG sort of city.
Speaking of Burlesque, I went to a show here in Canberra as part of the Fringe Festival and the conservatives were so outraged it made the newspaper (not once, not twice but three times). I thought it was a really amazing show, sure the Hitler spoof was a bit bad taste (I actually leaned over and said to my friends that I was surprised they were doing a nazi themed show, it was actually a little offensive, making light of what happened) but really, this girl who's routine involved her in devil horns smearing fake blood from BETWEEN HER LEGS all over herself and then pretending to pull out a long intestine and use it as a skipping rope probably took the cake for the most eye opening performance. And that one wasn't even MENTIONED in the newspaper. Bad show, Canberra.
That said, I was amazed by the amount of quality ink on display that whole day. I wandered around the stalls (there was a multicultural food fair as part of the festival) and wow, Canberra looks good considering there are no quality tattoo artists in the city, really. I was pretty shocked. But I really think Canberra's bad rep as a 'boring' city will die in a ditch within the next few years. I can't believe how much the city has changed since I've lived here, even! Its actually a really exciting place to be, I reckon.
Anyway, my fingers hurt from typing so that's all for now. I'm visiting Sydney for the latter part of this week and weekend for some family stuff (waa) so I might not be around as much over the next week. So be good, ok?
