Warning! Major blog update incoming!
I'm a actually typing this while on the move as things have been pretty hectic o late and finding the time or the mental energy for that matter to simply sit down and type is a rare occurrence.
Not that I'm complaining, I'm having a great time.
After a year of working to build my reputation as a community artist it's starting to pay off. I am the busiest I have ever been and getting positive feedback on the projects that I am involved in. The work (I feel guilty referring to it as work) is incredibly gratifying and the best part is that being my own boss means that unlike other jobs I have had, I don't see other people getting the credit for it.
I really am just waiting for the other shoe to drop.
From the point of my own work I am pencilled in for no less than 4 exhibitions this year, the first two are in May. One in Glasgow and the other in Liverpool. For the Glasgow exhibition I am currently planning on doing a group of illustrations of various heroes and villain from the world of comics and as Liverpool was only confirmed a couple of days ago so I have no idea what I am going to do for it :S but they are willing to put up some cash to get me down there and as I have never been to Liverpool I am jumping at the chance. In summer it's a return to the good spirits company and a fourth one at the end of the year which will more than likely be a return to Nowhereville (the fictional city my puppets live in).
On top of this I have been accepted as a competitor in this years Glasgow secret walls competition. Me against 7 of the best artists in Glasgow. I am bricking it.
But I would also like to think I am doing my bit for the artistic community of Glasgow to. Over the last month I have played a pivotal role in plans for affordable studio space for artists and also came up with a plan for artists to showcase their work in a local (busy) night club and came up with a pretty unique way for them to potentially make quite a bit of cash from doing it.
Belows song pretty much sums up my feelings just now
Its also looking lie I will be doing tough mudder again this year and possibly following it up with the spartan sprint both of which i will be raising money for The Teenage Cancer Trust
I am also learning violin
Its a good start to the year
