Random, dribbling update time. I'm bored so this could go either way.
Everyone remember to vote today? Good, glad to hear it. I know the arguments against.."whats the point, they're all the same" etc etc I just know personally that if i don't i feel so guilty. I mean what right does anyone who doesn't vote have to complain about anything really, it's just like that advert a while ago "i don't do politics" well don't moan about the price of your beer then. Complacency is so prevelant within western society, it's hard to remember that people died for our right to choose our own leaders. I know the choices are weak, but it;s like Yorkie said, the least you can do is stop the BNP getting any say.
But then your hear news like this and wonder...
Why do we bother?
I guess the only answer is that eternal cliche, "because someone has to" Whatever little we can do, the smallest thing, even if it's only increasing our own awareness of the world around. Forming our own opinions, questioning what we're fed, and believe me, by no means do i believe the Washington Post is unbiased, maybe, one day we'll stand up and say "no, this isn't right". If the internet has shown me anything, beyond graphic sex acts beyond my wildest dreams (well almost) it's that there are just so goddamn many people out there, and we have this access to information that even 10 years ago would have been unthinkable, unobtainable. Now it's so easy, got a question? Google it! I guess all this means we have a, i hate to say it, responsibility, to do what we can to make things better. Now responsibility is not something i'm good at, and by no means do i do everything which i should, but at least i care and i try to be aware and do the best i can.

personally, I vote because I'll never have the money to be a political lobbyist, so I better make my voice heard in the small way available to me.
