I know my entry may have been a bit confusing. I didn't know how detailed I should've made it. I am a member of a chain of karate studios called Professional Karate Studios, and a few years ago I was promoted to head instructor of one of those studios. And even though I held a lot of responsibility and did my job well, I was still kinda young and I didn't feel fully embraced by the other head instructors of the karate studios from my chain. I just didn't feel like a part of the inner circle that I should have been a part of. When I headed off to Augsburg for my 3rd year of college, I could no longer act as the head instructor, so I was "demoted" in a way.
All instructors, not only the head ones, can attend a karate test. And one section of the test includes having the testers perform their forms in front of all of the head instructors. Even though I am not currently an active head instructor, I was still invited to sit among the head instructors while evaluating the testers. It was actually a rather nice gesture.
Does that make sense now? Sorry if it was confusing. And I'm sorry if I offended you with that smoking comment. but seriously. Among all of the people I occasionally hang out with, I don't think any of them NOT smoke. It's odd. I used to be a real smoke Nazi. I still don't look favorably upon smoking, but now I think it's incredibly shallow for someone to deny association with another just because that other person smokes. It just don't make sense. anyhoo!!

Yeah, I really don't expect a comment from her anytime soon. If ever. Which is one of the reasons I didn't understand why you would have thought I would expect to hear from her on my birthday. We really have not been close for a while. Perhaps that is as much my fault as anyone else's. I don't know. I just know we have grown apart. Or maybe we were never actually close. Hard to say. I do regret that I rarely see her. I miss her, but, I gave up any expectations of really seeing or hearing from her much long ago.
