Tired....I always think about my favorite Beatles song...I am so tired.
I first heard it in Chicago. (the picture is of me from those days) I was working at a cafe and I had to be at work at 6am. I was sitting there in the empty bar of the place...no one else had come in yet, so I put the jukebox on that song...I was sweating out whiskey and watching the snow fall and listening to this song and realizing how stupid I was to hate the beatles just because they were not "alternative" or whatever...Only one of the many things I stupidly did in my youth. They are brilliant.
My friend's 44th b-day yesterday. He is such a cutie. My girlfriend is driving me insane. I love her but worry too much about her...
work is so exciting and scary. We have this issue of the magazine going to press on Tuesday. I layed out almost the entire thing, and I got to design this story.. "All that Glitters is not sold" It is a fantastic piece about all the great advertising that never made it to the public...Some of the work is so impressive and done by some of the best firms here in atlanta and in the us...I felt so honored...and so tired.
I think we are going to a burlesque show at The Chamber, this goth, sex club tomarrow...I hope mentholgrrl will go. She knows I need some one to push me out the door, otherwise I will whine and cry and suggest scrabble and wine at home. (which is very fun mind you...just not gothsexclub fun)
hey, i have classical piano training too! i took lessons for about nine years and after a seven year layoff have been playing again for the last nine months. but making the transition from classical to jazz has been frustrating beyond the limits of my patience. my inspiration to play again came from a performance i caught last summer, oscar peterson. if you appreciate a uncanny sense of swing and fingers with incomparable speed, spend an hour or two in your neighborhood record store this weekend sampling a little of oscar pete's sugar sweet licks.
here's hoping that ms. menthol gives you a firm boot in the ass and gets you butt to the chamber. sounds like a good time. have a groovy weekend.
