I am currently terrified for one young boy I know. I and my coworkers have invested so much time and energy into helping him recover from a violent childhood, and he has made so much progress. However, he is moving across the country next week, and tomorrow is his last day with us. I can only hope that the school system there will be openminded and proactive. He has all the potential in the world--he just needs some extra support.
I am going to cry when he leaves tomorrow. I didn't think I could get so attached to someone who once tried to strangle me in anger.
