Ah, the drama goes on and on. Some yahoo has been charging items to one of my mother's credit cards. I checked with my brother and father, and it's not one of us.

Strangely enough, I feel more of a vacuous suck in my belly than a white hot rage when I think about the perpetrator.

I'd still like to hammer on him, though, but more for principle's sake than out of fear. If it turns out to be somebody that took advantage of her/our trust, it could be on.

My lawyer advises me not to post these kinds of thoughts to the internet. Heh, heh.

See, that's why you have a death coffee pot handy. You can go to court and throw up your hands and say, "I ordered it to *make him a cup of coffee* your honor!"

DC2020 and I both think that the last week has seen extra-strong waves of sadness regarding our mother. I'm convinced it's because her shade is juuuuuust cognizant enough of the mortal coil to know that her Jayhawks lost.

What do I think?

A) First of all, fuck every last single person who has something sassy to say about "your Jayhawks fucked my bracket, I picked them to go to the Final Four!"

If you're going to pick a team starting 3 freshmen and 2 sophomores where upperclassmen contribute 8 points a game, you're a gambler. Don't bitch at me because you stuck your neck out, and don't blame the freshmen. You probably think casinos aren't rigged, or that the strippers actually like you.

B) The loss wasn't as painful as last year.

C) Holy shit, how good is this team going to be next year and the year after? Like woah.

D) They completely and utterly exceeded our pre-season expectations. For this team to win the Big XII (when even the die-hard faithful had them picked 3rd, and the realistic had us at 4th or 5th) is an amazing accomplishment. A few of us doubted we'd even make the tournament.

Now, my mother wouldn't have held much with B, C or D. She'd have been vocally in the A camp, but if she were here, she'd be miserable and bitch a lot. She was the kind of fan who wanted it all, every year, period.

So I think whatever facet of her that still lingers is crazy bummed right now.

Maybe I should bring back the two martini lunch?

Every night that something social is a possibility, we approach it like a fire-breathing dragon. Or worse, and scarier: something social! We say to ourselves, man, i should really pull my sword, duck the fire and stab his bulging belly. But shoot, that's gonna involve a lot of work, and I'm just too tired. Tonight, HHHHRRRRRRRR.
