Everyone has gone crazy at work. The project is late and over budget. Upper management became directly involved. Nothing is working correctly.
And we've all compensated through sheer insanity. Everytime we discover a piece of software fails to work properly, we just bust up laughing. I've lost track of the sheer number of running gags we have going.
After having worked in the corporate world for a number of years now, I'm constantly amazed that any company functions well enough to actually turn a profit.
Someone once told me that he believed surprise and amazement were the same thing, until he spent a few weeks being constantly amazed... yet was never surprised once. I fully understand that concept now.
